This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you.

This policy is issued in compliance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By using this Site or submitting personal information through it, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein.

1. About This Policy & Governing Legislation

123Meridian is a privately held technology and AI automation consulting business operating in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. As a BC-based organization engaging in interprovincial commerce, our privacy practices are governed by both:

Where both statutes apply, we comply with the more stringent requirement. This policy incorporates the ten fair information principles set out in Schedule 1 of PIPEDA and reflects the parallel obligations under BC PIPA.

2. Accountability

PIPEDA and BC PIPA require that an individual within an organization be accountable for privacy compliance. As a small owner-operated business, the owner of 123Meridian is personally responsible for compliance with applicable privacy legislation and the obligations set out in this policy. That responsibility includes:

All privacy-related inquiries and requests should be directed to us using the contact information below.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain technical and behavioural information is collected automatically through cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies operated by us and by authorized third-party service providers:

We limit our collection of personal information to what is reasonably necessary for the purposes identified below. We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or government-issued identification numbers) through this Site.

In accordance with the identifying-purposes principle under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, we collect personal information only for the following identified purposes, which are communicated to you at or before the time of collection:

We will not use or disclose your personal information for any new purpose without first identifying that purpose and obtaining your consent, unless otherwise permitted by law.

5. Consent

5.1 Express Consent

Express consent is obtained when you take a deliberate action to opt in, such as checking a consent checkbox on a form. Express consent is required for:

Pre-ticked checkboxes do not constitute valid express consent under CASL or PIPEDA. Consent must be a positive, informed, and voluntary act.

5.2 Implied Consent

Implied consent may exist where there is an existing business relationship, such as when you have recently requested a quote, made an inquiry, or engaged our services. In accordance with CASL, implied consent for commercial electronic messages arising from a service inquiry expires six (6) months after the inquiry, or two (2) years after a completed transaction.

5.3 Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and upon reasonable notice. Withdrawal of consent is prospective in effect; it does not affect prior collection, use, or disclosure. To withdraw consent, contact us at [email protected]. We will inform you of the consequences, if any, of withdrawing consent and will process your request without undue delay.

6. SMS Communication & CASL Compliance

6.1 SMS Program Description & Messaging Use Cases

123Meridian operates an SMS messaging program for the purpose of customer care and service-related communications. Consent to receive SMS messages is obtained by checking an explicit opt-in checkbox on our contact or booking form at the time you provide your phone number. By checking that box and providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from 123Meridian that may include:

SMS messages are used exclusively for customer care and service-related purposes. This program is not used for unsolicited promotional or marketing campaigns.

No Sharing of Phone Numbers or SMS Consent Data (Critical Disclosure)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All opt-in data and SMS consent information — including your mobile phone number and the fact of your opt-in — will not be shared with any third parties. This prohibition applies absolutely and without exception to any SMS opt-in data collected through this Site.

123Meridian does not sell, rent, trade, lease, or otherwise disclose your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent to any third party for any marketing, advertising, or promotional purpose.

6.2 Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time. To opt out, reply STOP to any SMS message you receive from us. Upon receipt of your STOP request, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. We will process all opt-out requests within ten (10) business days of receipt, in accordance with CASL.

Contact your wireless carrier for details on applicable rates.

6.5 Carrier Liability Disclaimer

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our SMS program is operated in full compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), S.C. 2010, c. 23. We obtain express consent prior to sending any commercial electronic message, maintain records of consent, and honor opt-out requests within the statutory timeframe. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any service or receiving a response to your inquiry.

7. Email & Electronic Communication

Where you have provided your email address and expressed consent to receive commercial electronic messages, we may send you emails related to our services, consultations, and relevant updates. All commercial emails sent by 123Meridian include our identity and contact information, and a clear and functional unsubscribe mechanism. Unsubscribe requests are honored within ten (10) business days, in accordance with CASL.

Transactional and service-related emails (such as booking confirmations or inquiry responses) may be sent regardless of marketing consent, as they are not commercial electronic messages within the meaning of CASL.
